Biodiversity monitoring, bird watching and ecotourism

SONABIC works with the National Museums of Kenya to establish and maintain forest transects and plots for monitoring reptiles, mammals and birds in South Nandi Forest. Moreover, the CBO conducts the wet and dry season bird/biodiversity monitoring and the common bird population monitoring. This is besides doing birdwatching every last Friday of the month and assisting researchers in data collection, and occasionally guiding tourists who come to visit the forest.
